Everyone is welcome to attend, but you must be a member to vote for the board of directors.
We will elect our 2026 Board of Directors, look back at all we accomplished in 2025, and discuss our vision for 2026 and beyond.

Lee Hughes - seeking re-election
“Over the last number of years, we have had made great progress on Thornhill. When I first started we had very little input but over the years, we now have a working relationship with the land manager. We are going into our third year with an official maintenance agreement and we were involved in consultations to decide trail use. We had input in the sign project resulting in the signs you see today and we pushed for the parking lot that you see now. We have also had work parties with the land manager to realign the lower portion of Blue Suede Shoes and improve the upper half of that same trail a couple years later. All these things are great but my job at Thornhill is not finished. I am currently working on strategies to preserve Thornhill in it’s current state so future riders can enjoy for years to come.”
Ernie Kliever - seeking re-election
Ernie Kliever has been actively involved with the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association since 2011, serving as President for three years, Director of Advocacy, and most recently as Director at Large. He also served as Board President of the Vedder Mountain Trails Association, where he led multi-user collaboration, trail planning and development, and government engagement. Ernie played a meaningful role in advancing Vedder Mountain’s trail network toward formal recognition and protection, trained builders in IMBA Canada trail standards, and helped bring major events like the Canadian Enduro Series to the region. After a professional development break to complete his legal training and become a Notary Public, he returned to FVMBA leadership to modernize fundraising and ensure governance continuity. With a strong commitment to community, youth engagement, Indigenous partnerships, and sustainable trail stewardship, Ernie offers experience, institutional memory, and strategic perspective to support FVMBA’s future.
Chris Friesen - seeking election
Chris Friesen is a dedicated volunteer trail builder with a deep passion for creating and maintaining trails that connect people with nature. An avid mountain biker himself, Chris pours his energy into every trail-building project, ensuring others can share in the joy of the ride. With a strong drive to see the mountain biking community thrive, he passionately supports the FVMBA (Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association) in advancing its mission, bringing his enthusiasm and vision to every step forward.
